Google releases Chrome, a web browser

Google announced yesterday on the their blog that today they would release a web browser called Google Chrome.

Today, Google Chrome is available for download.

It’s too early to tell what the implications of this will be on web designers and developers but it might be worth installing and taking for a spin.

  1. I’ve only been playing with Chrome for about 30 minutes and already I am in love.

    Initial notes:

*Imports bookmarks only from IE/FF – not from a file and not from Opera.

*Very minimal GUI. I expect it to expand with more options as Google publishes more test releases.

*Allows user to open a new “incognito window” – one that does not save a browsing history

*Text boxes can be expanded by dragging from the bottom right corner.

  2. One last thing: It loads web pages like lightning!
